Officials predict flood protection measures will be put the test this afternoon as thunderstorms and strong winds roll through the Okanagan.
Environment Canada is forecasting winds from 30 to 50 kilometres per hour this afternoon and property owners are being encouraged to bolster their flood protection if necessary.
There’s also a risk of thundershowers and heavy winds this evening.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, Okanagan Lake is currently 343.249 metres above sea level — a slight increase from Wednesday’s measurements.
Kalamalka Lake dropped by a fraction overnight.
