The force from the explosion propelled muddy water six storeys high, according to a local report.

A woman was seen walking nearby in the video. While she was hit by flying debris, she escaped without injury.

After the explosion, a river of water can be seen thundering down a nearby street.

The explosion, which damaged several nearby cars and left a six-metre square hole in the ground, left no one injured, local media reported.

The incident occurred as local officials were conducting pressure tests on pipes that formerly conducted hot water to nearby housing complexes, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The pipes, which had not been used in 37 years were filled with cold water at the time of the incident, the newspaper reported.
