Police identify woman’s body found in Mississauga

Peel police are investigating after a body was found in a driveway in south Mississauga Monday morning.

A neighbour made the discovery outside of a residence on Westmount Avenue and called police just after 9 a.m.

Police confirmed to AM640 the deceased has since been identified as Cheryl Mcvarish, 43.

Mcvarish had been reported missing as of 11:30 a.m. March 13 in the area of Lakeshore Road East and Cawthra Road in Mississauga.

In a statement, Peel police said the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau is now investigating the suspicious circumstances of the incident.

Police would not comment on the woman’s cause of death, but said there is no concern to the public.

The area of Lakeshore Road East, First Street and Westmount Avenue is closed for the investigation.
