Twin boys, 1 with life-threatening injuries, rushed to hospital after being struck by vehicle in North York

Twin boys, one with life-threatening injuries, have been taken to hospital after being struck by a minivan in North York Saturday.

Toronto Police report that the driver, a 20-year-old woman, was travelling eastbound on Sheppard Avenue West, approaching Magellan Drive when she struck the boys as they were crossing the road.

Const. Clint Stibbe said nine-year-old twins have been taken to hospital, one in life-threatening condition, the other with serious injuries.

The driver of the minivan remained on scene.

Toronto Police said officers responded to a call at 10:12 a.m. about a personal injury collision at Sheppard Avenue West at Magellan Drive.

Sheppard Avenue West from Jane Street to Yatescastle Drive was closed while the investigation was underway but has since been reopened.
