RCMP say they responded to 11 motor vehicle collisions within a 12 hour span Thursday evening and believe road conditions may be a factor in the fatal crash.

“It’s too early in the investigation to determine the actual cause of the collision,” said Cpl. Dal Hutchinson with the RCMP.

“Our collision analyst will look at a number of factors to determine what caused the collision. They’ll be looking at the weather conditions, the road conditions, they’ll be looking at the statements taken from everyone involved and any witnesses that may have observed what happened.”

A mechanical inspection of both the fire truck and the vehicle driven by the deceased woman will take place in the coming days.
