This week members of the high school’s climbing club were testing their skills at the group’s third annual competition.

From humble beginnings three years ago, the school club has grown to around 30 members.

“I love that it is like yoga on the wall. It mixes strength and balance and power all in one. It’s a real rounded workout,” said student Rowena Dunlop.

This year’s competition was the largest yet with 22 competitors trying to take the top prize.

Instructor Shane Collins would like to see the club’s expansion continue.

He’s heading up the W.L. Seaton Climbing Society which is hoping to raise $30,000 to expand the facility at the high school and allow more young people to have the opportunity to learn to climb.
