A 27-year-old man has been charged with forcible confinement and choking after allegedly forcing his way into a back office early Friday morning.
At around 1:51 a.m. CT, Regina police were called to a business in the 1700 block of Victoria Avenue for a report of an unwanted guest.
According to police, the caller said a man at the front desk was acting aggressively toward employees. The caller then said it appeared the man had forced his way into a back room and was no longer visible.
When officers arrived, there was no one in the lobby, but they said they could hear faint noise coming from a back office, which was locked.
Police said officers could see a struggle between a man and a woman through a vent. They went into the office and took a man into a custody.
The 27-year-old woman was treated by EMS and returned home.
Jonathan Henry James Southwind has been charged with forcible confinement and overcome resistance by attempting to choke, as well as three charges of breach of recognizance.
Southwind is set to appear in provincial court Friday afternoon.
