Karee Toft was walking her dog in East Vancouver early Monday morning when she was viciously attacked by a raccoon.

She tried to fight the animal off but it was relentless, leaving her with more than 50 puncture wounds.

After 15 minutes of screaming for help, neighbours came to her rescue. She was rushed to hospital and given a tetanus shot.

“I was trying to kick or get away or punch the raccoon. He just wouldn’t stop.”
