A popular bar and restaurant in Abbotsford has been destroyed by an overnight fire.
The flames were first spotted pouring from the front of Lou’s Grill in Abbotsford shortly after 6 a.m.
Firefighters had to wait for a Fortis crew to arrive at the building on Gladys Avenue and shut off the gas that was feeding the flames before they could fight the fire.
At this point, the cause of the fire is still under investigation but the building has been completely destroyed.
“When crews arrived they had a fully involved fire out the front and the gas meter was on fire,” Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Adams said. “It made for a delay. We weren’t able to enter the building until we got the gas shut off, which delayed in getting the fire put out.”
We will update this story when more details are available.
