A woman and a man have been charged after a nine-hour crime spree through Airdrie and Calgary, RCMP said in a statement Saturday.
Police were able to locate the pair, along with the vehicle they were travelling in, Sunday evening.
Airdrie RCMP said Serena Liversuch, 31, and Dana Motyer, 33, were arrested in the early morning hours of Thurs. Sept. 8 after they were found with stolen property. The pair was then released pending a court date.
Police believe the two were then involved in a stabbing that injured a man at a motel just off Edmonton Trail at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Police said Liversuch and Motyer fled the scene.
“While evading police, the pair obtained meals from a restaurant in the area of Main Street,” Airdrie RCMP said in a release.
“At the restaurant, Motyer is alleged to have assaulted the restaurant manager who confronted the two about paying, but the accused left without paying.”
Later on Saturday, RCMP said officers “may have been premature in releasing that it was an ‘assault’” and clarified charges have not been laid in the restaurant incident.
RCMP said the suspects fled to Calgary, where Calgary police arrested them following a stolen vehicle complaint at about 9:40 p.m. the same day.
Liversuch and Motyer, both of no fixed address, were taken to Airdrie where they were charged with forcible confinement, aggravated assault, armed robbery and uttering threats.
When asked for details on the forcible confinement charges, RCMP said “information into this situation is fluid so investigators are attempting to determine what offences (if any) took place.”
The two suspects were once again released following a bail hearing and are set to appear in court Sept. 29.
RCMP could not immediately provide further information when contacted by Global News Saturday. Calgary police had no information on the incident.
