WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Police Board is asking the city for $3.7 million to meet unexpected pension demands.
At a police board meeting Friday, the finance chair revealed they found out about the pension shortfall in July.

A motion was passed asking the city to provide the required funds.
Acting Police Chief, Art Stannard said it’s the city’s responsibility to cover the shortfall.
The board’s finance chair assured the board they’ll still be able to stay within their 2016 budget.
