Kitchener’s Grand River Hospital has declared an outbreak of a gastro-intestinal illness in its specialized mental health unit.
A hospital spokesman says 10 patients at the Freeport Campus have symptoms that are consistent with a stomach virus.
He says the hospital will isolate the patients and limit visitors so the virus doesn’t spread, and will also be aggressively cleaning the unit.
