The community of North Preston is rallying together following the homicide of a 26-year-old man last week.
The body of Tylor McInnis was found in the trunk of a stolen car on Tuesday at St. Thomas Baptist Church.

On Sunday people gathered for a barbecue hosted by Ceasefire Halifax, an organization that works to end violence in the city. Following the meal, many marched through North Preston to the church where they said a prayer.
“What we want to do is to bring people out to stand up against violence,” said Carlos Beals of Ceasefire Halifax.
“Violence in some communities in the Halifax-region has become the norm. Having people come out and stand up together and say violence is not the way and hopefully what we can do is start to de-normalize violence.”
RCMP have said they do not believe McInnis’ homicide to be a random act and are encouraging anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
