Homicide investigation underway after man’s body found northwest of Edmonton

Morinville RCMP say they are investigating a homicide after a man’s body was found in a rural area northwest of Edmonton Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the area of Township Road 540 and Rural Route 263 by a local resident at around 8:26 a.m.

An autopsy was conducted on Wednesday, which determined the manner of death was homicide. However, police did not release the cause of the man’s death.

His identity has not yet been determined.

Morinville RCMP, members from the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit in Edmonton and members of the Edmonton Police Service are involved in the investigation.
