Announced Monday, Whistler-Blackcomb Holdings is being sold to Colorado-based Vail Resorts under a friendly deal worth roughly $1.4 billion.

Now, Vail Resorts confirms Whistler Blackcomb will likely be part of its affordable Epic Pass program, which includes access to every Vail ski resort, by the 2017/2018 season.

A spokesperson for the company says they consider the Epic Pass to be the “best value in the industry for all skiers and riders.”

Epic Pass prices for 2016/2017 are currently $809 USD for adults and $419 for kids – $1,061 and $549 CAD with today’s exchange rate.

Early bird prices for a Whistler Blackcomb unlimited season pass are currently $1,649, down from the regular $2,049 for adults. Children’s passes are now at $469.

Once Whistler joins the Epic Pass program, skiers and riders can expect to save between $588 and $988.

The only age group not making big savings with the Vail pass are teens, who currently get a discounted rate at Whistler with a season pass priced at $769. The Epic Pass age cut-off for children is 12 years old and anyone older is considered an adult.

Vail Resorts adds that it cannot predict what its prices for next season will be, but that it plan to keep prices at the best value.

  • Vail – Colorado
  • Beaver Creek – Colorado
  • Breckenridge – Colorado
  • Keystone – Colorado
  • Park City – Utah
  • Heavenly – Lake Tahoe, California
  • Northstar – California
  • Kirkwood – California
  • Wilmot – Wisconsin
  • Afton Alps – Minnesota
  • Mt. Brighton – Michigan
  • Perisher – Australia
