IHIT arrests two suspects linked to Chilliwack homicide

UPDATE (July 15, 2016): IHIT has arrested both Cydnie Markel-Rempel and David ‘Yoda’ McKay. 

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is looking for two suspects possibly involved in a targeted assault in Chilliwack on Wednesday morning.

Police were called to a home in the 8900-block of Glenwood Street at about 11:30 a.m. on July 13 and found 40-year-old John Robert Oliver Anderson in medical distress.

Anderson was taken to hospital but did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead just after 1:30 p.m.

An autopsy will be performed on Anderson to determine the full extent of his injuries and cause of death.

IHIT believes Anderson’s death was targeted and have identified two possible suspects, who left the scene before emergency crews got to the scene.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding 37-year-old David ‘Yoda’ McKay and 21-year-old Cydnie Markel-Rempel. McKay is described as Caucasian, 6’1″ tall, 174 lbs with short brown hair, blue eyes and fair skin. Markel-Rempel is Caucasian, 5’6″ tall, 130 lbs with short brown hair, brown eyes and fair skin.

There are no known fixed addresses for McKay or Markel-Rempel and anyone with information on their whereabouts are asked to call 9-1-1, IHIT or Crime Stoppers.
