Regina residents may have thought we were in the clear after the slimy tent caterpillar problem, well, think again.
Thursday morning residents stormed social media showcasing the city under siege by moths.
According to city staff, the throng of moths are part of the final life-cycle stage of the tent caterpillars that infested Regina three weeks ago.
While City of Regina Parks Director, Ray Morgan, wouldn’t classify the problem as a plague, he did provide advice for homeowners looking to clean up the mess.
“One preventative measure is leaving the outside lights off because they’re attracted to light,” Morgan said.
“But what you can do during the daytime if you’re seeing them on the side of your house or a building is hose them down, use a broom and knock them down then sweep them up and double bag them then throw them in the garbage.”
Morgan said the moths should die off within the next couple of weeks.
