Nova Scotian Olympic gymnast Ellie Black will be heading to Rio de Janeiro in August to compete in the 2016 Rio summer Olympics.
Gymnastics Canada tweeted Wednesday that Black, along with teammates Isabela Onyshko and Brittany Rogers, has been nominated to represent Canada at the summer games.

Black has already done Nova Scotia proud, bringing home medals from several competitions, including coming away from the Elite Canada Artistic Gymnastics Championships with three silver and one bronze medal.
Black cleaned house at the Pan Am games in July, winning five medals. She’s also won three Commonwealth Games medals.
This will be Black’s second Olympic Games — at only 16 years old she competed for Team Canada in the 2012 London games.
Questions have swirled around having the games, set for August 5-21, in Rio de Janeiro as the presence of Zika virus and concerns about security and water quality have dampened excitement leading up to the global sporting event.
Gymnastics Canada said the next two nominees will be announced on Thursday.
