There was a lot of buzz on campus Monday. It wasn’t exactly the right type of “B” students at the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) were hoping to see after final exams.
A swarm of bees had made a nest outside the old entrance to the health sciences building.

Crews used a truck and a vacuum to remove the insects from a window.
Some more good news – the bees won’t be destroyed. They’re going to a new home on a farm near Dysart, where the colony will be allowed to thrive once again.
“I didn’t want to call in an exterminator or anybody or pest management technicians. I wanted to work with maybe some farmers to come and get these bees and hopefully take them to the Prairies,” said Gift Marufu, manager of grounds operations at the university.
U of S officials say the situation will be monitored to make sure another swarm doesn’t develop.
