Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall remains the most popular provincial leader, posting an approval rating of 66 per cent.

Although Pallister is enjoying the second-highest approval rating, another Angus Reid poll released Wednesday said, “Pallister did not take office with the same level of popularity as new leaders in other provinces have enjoyed after winning a change in government.”

For example, Pallister lags behind the first post-election approval ratings recently posted by Alberta’s Rachel Notley (53 per cent), Newfoundland and Labrador’s Dwight Ball (60 per cent) and Nova Scotia’s Stephen McNeil (66 per cent).

The poll suggests while Manitobans are “broadly pleased with the outcome of last month’s election” and the departure of Greg Selinger, more than half of those surveyed think the Tories have a “hidden agenda” and are making plans for governing they didn’t mention during the campaign.
