REGINA – A Regina man charged with killing his wife in the city’s fourth homicide over the May long weekend appeared in provincial court Tuesday morning.

Jagdish Singh Tehara, 39, is charged with second degree murder in the death of his 38-year-old wife, Sandeep Kaur Tehara.
In court, Singh Tehara was non-responsive to the judge when asked if he understood the charges he is facing.
With no lawyer present, legal-aid counsel stepped-up and put forth a request to the judge that Sing Tehara reappear before the court on Tuesday May 31, 2016.
The judge granted the request.
In the Uplands neighbourhood where the family lived, neighbours say the family had two children, both in elementary school.
“So sad for the kids because it’s like their parents are at this point and nobody likes it,” one neighbour said who asked not to be identified.
The community has seen a similar violent act before. In 2010, three members of the Htoo family were found dead in their homes in the same neighbourhood.
