Police have charged four people in connection with a dramatic shooting and car crash in the city’s downtown core last Halloween.
Toronto police said Charles Shillingford, 25, was shot in the chest in the area of Yonge and Charles streets just after 2 a.m. on Oct. 31, before crashing his vehicle into a building near Yonge and College streets.
Shillingford was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Homicide detectives said Monday they had executed several search warrants and arrest warrants in relation to the shooting between May 2 and May 6.
Jahmal Joseph Richardson, 31, of Oakville, Kyle Sparks-McKinnon, 26, of Toronto, Mitchell Mannette, 20, of Halifax and Denzell Tyresse Walter Desmond, 19, of Halifax were arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

They are scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on May 19.
Police said Sparks-MacKinnon had previously been charged in connection with another shooting in downtown Toronto.

Det. Sgt. Mike Carbone had said police were called around 3:15 a.m. near Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street on Jan. 31, where there had been an altercation before the gunfire.
David Eminess, 26, and Quinn Taylor, 29, were both fatally shot outside New Ho King Restaurant at Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street.
Sparks-Mackinnon was charged with two counts of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder in that case.
