Lena Dunham is an actor known to do comedy — on the hit HBO series Girls and as a guest on Saturday Night Live — but it looks like she thinks Donald Trump is no laughing matter.
Dunham is talking about moving north if the Republican front-runner becomes president.
While at Matrix Awards she said, “I know a lot of people have been threatening to do this but I really will.”
“I know a lovely place in Vancouver and I can get my work done from there.”
A few celebrities have mused about hitting the trail to Canada — Trump says go ahead, it’ll make his day.
Told of the Dunham threat, Trump told Fox News, “Now I have to get elected because I will be doing a great service to our country.”
A tourist visiting Vancouver describes the current American political scene as “a combination of Looney Tunes and Catch-22” but adds he will be going home.
Vancouver immigration lawyer Rudolf Kischer says he has been getting inquiries from the U.S. and has seen this movie before.
“For example, we saw thousands more people immigrate to Canada when George W. Bush was re elected….they were unhappy with politics in the United States.”
And a Trump Tower Vancouver admirer would even consider moving south.
“I think he would be a great leader for the world.”
Whether it’s angry actors or a shiny building, the Trump brand is looming large over Vancouver.
