KELOWNA – A 22 year old Kelowna man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to mischief and two assault charges in connection to a strange incident at a Kelowna law office in July, 2015.
After the incident, lawyer Dave Pihl described being kicked down a set of stairs at his office on Ellis Street as he attempted to stop a young man from starting a fire in the stairwell.

Police said “firefighters restrained the struggling suspect until police arrived,” and one of them was also hurt.
Wednesday Cody Weninger learned he would not have to spend any more time behind bars for the incident after previously serving 35 days in custody.
Weninger was sentenced to time served and twenty months probation.
While on probation he will not be allowed to drink, use illegal drugs or contact the people he assaulted except to write a letter of apology.
Weninger’s lawyer said in court that his client’s life has improved a lot since being out on bail.
Grant Gray said Weninger has been seeking help from a physiatrist, is taking a welding course and is expected to finish that course soon and become an apprentice.
A related arson charge was stayed.
