“That’s minimal information we received (report) we didn’t get a description or anything like that. It’s just due to the severity of the call we have to exercise every call as a serious threat,” military police spokesperson Cpl. Joshua John said.

John went on to say that officers made sure everyone within the coordinate, the gymnasium, was removed, checked for weapons and then taken somewhere safe.

“Nobody was arrested, it was just evacuating everybody one by one to ensure that they were safe, that nobody was armed, nobody was injured and provided them with shelter again,” John said.

John went on to say they are increasing patrols, keeping Shearwater residents informed and asking them to report anything suspicious.

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Roger Robbins confirmed officers were called to assist military police in the evacuation and search procedures.
