POINTE-CLAIRE – As Pointe-Claire Video shuts its doors, after a 36-year stint, a new question arises that could be tied to the future of the Pointe-Claire Plaza.
Namely, what will go in an upstairs space now that the second-largest tenant of a 6,000 square-foot space is leaving?
Many current tenants at the mall are hoping a daycare goes in there. The reason being, it would inject younger customers into the mall.
Peter Green, owner of Ted’s Hobby Shop, is one such tenant.
“It would be great for my business.”
The mall is a unique collection of businesses: it includes an SAQ, a Uniprix pharmacy and is anchored by a Metro grocery store, but it’s mostly composed of mom-and-pop stores.
The mall’s management says the upstairs space could be divided into three units if a bigger-ticket tenant isn’t found.
