Two men have been arrested after a Boston homeowner called police when he saw a live video feed of two suspects trying to rob his home.
Brian Chandanais, 28, and Jay Burtch, 29, are facing multiple charges, including breaking and entering, vandalism and resisting arrest, after the homeowner of the house, Damien Girard, was alerted to the situation and called police.
Girard was at work at the time, but quickly hopped online when he received notification from a security system at his home.
Girard told WBZ News the system sent the alert due to the sound of glass breaking in his house. When he turned on a live feed from a camera within his home, he saw Chandanais and Burtch.
“I realized it wasn’t my son because he’s not a scumbag and the person in the shot is absolutely a scumbag,” said Girard to WBZ.
According to the news organization, Chandanais was arrested in the home and told police he “didn’t break into anything,” while Burtch tried to make an escape by jumping out a window from the second floor.
