LETHBRIDGE – A grass fire that broke out near the town of Coalhurst Tuesday afternoon is being called suspicious by area fire officials.
Firefighters with the Coalhurst Fire Department were called out to the blaze shortly after 3 p.m. They said they were able to put out the large fire within a few hours.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, but Fire Chief Mat Conte called it “suspicious in nature.”
Conte emphasized the importance of the public following burn regulations, especially with the current dry conditions in Lethbridge County.
