The boy, who has not been identified, allegedly stole the vehicle Sunday afternoon after a contractor left the keys in the truck.

One witness told KTTC News the unidentified boy “drove around town six or seven times…smiling, hooting and hollering.”

Police originally stopped the truck for speeding, however, the boy drove off, hitting the official’s car in the process.

That’s when the pursuit began.

According to KTTC, the truck was driving as fast as 112 kilometres per hour.

Once the chase came to a stop, the boy tried to flee the scene but was arrested.

The 11-year-old was taken to a juvenile detention center and is expected to be formally charged on March 21.
