The Royals jumped out quickly, scoring three times in the first to lead 3-0 after one. Kelowna came back to make the score 3-2 with two early goals in the second. But by the end of the second, the Royals led 6-3 as the teams exchanged six goals in the period.

Tomas Soustal, Dillon Dube, Calvin Thurkauf and Cal Foote scored for the Rockets while Rourke Chartier had three assists on the night.

The loss dropped the Rockets record to 46-20-4-0 on the season and gave Victoria first place in the WHL Western Conference.

The Rockets are back in action this weekend for the team’s final two regular season games of the season, a home and home with Vancouver. The two teams will play in Vancouver Friday and in Kelowna Saturday.
