Virginia McLaurin has become a viral hit after a video of her meeting Barack and Michelle Obama on Sunday was posted online.

“It’s an honour, it’s an honour,” shouted McLaurin, who lives in D.C.

When asked by the president if she wanted to meet Michelle, McLaurin exclaimed, “Yes!”

The first lady was so impressed by McLaurin’s attitude and energy, she said, “I wanna be like you when I grow up.”

“You can,” responded McLaurin, before breaking out into dance.

“I thought I would never live to get in the White House,” said McLaurin. “And I tell you, I am so happy.”

McLaurin, who was born in 1909, was behind a social media campaign to get the opportunity to meet the president, which started with a YouTube video in 2014.
