Quebec man receives 57-month sentence for sexually assaulting young girls

TROIS-RIVIERES, Que. – A Trois-Rivieres, Quebec man has been sentenced to nearly five-years in prison for sexually assaulting two young girls and impregnating one of them at age 11.

Thirty-two-year-old Mathieu Roy initially pleaded not guilty but changed his plea Friday.

Roy broke down in tears after the judge read his sentence.

With time served, Roy has 45 months left on his sentence.

He will also be a registered sex offender for life.

Roy admitted having sexual relations with the two victims on 20 occasions.

He was first charged with sexual assault and sexual touching against the 11-year-old girl, who had the baby last May at age 12.

Roy was later charged with the same crimes against a 15-year-old.
