A judge has ruled that convicted animal killer Kayla Bourque can be given unescorted day time in the community.
Bourque, who is under strict probation of 47 rules, will be allowed unsupervised trips on a GPS cuff on Thursdays between 9-11 a.m. when a parole officer agrees.
The 25-year-old lives in New Westminster and is considered a high-risk offender. She has admitted to fantasies of killing homeless people in the past.
In September 2009, Bourque was convicted of killing animals, causing unnecessary pain and suffering or injury to animals.
In March 2012, she was found guilty of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, but charges of possessing child pornography were stayed. She was sentenced to one month in jail and three years of probation.
In 2013, she lost an appeal of a lifetime ban on owning animals.
