WINNIPEG — Winnipeg police are looking for a man who may have fired a gun at a woman while she was in her car early Monday morning.
The female driver told police that while she was stopped at Lagimodiere Boulevard and Regent Avenue at around 2:00 a.m., a man pulled up next to her vehicle and pointed his gun at her.
She immediately drove away and went to the nearest police station.
She told officers she didn’t believe the man had fired the gun but police said their investigation determined her vehicle may have been struck by a bullet.
“You have to be concerned, we have a report of an unknown individual possibly discharging a firearm in the direction of a vehicle, certainly that is a huge concern and members of our major crimes unit are following up on the investigation,” said Winnipeg Police constable Eric Hofley.
The woman also reported that she did not know the suspect or recognize the vehicle.
Police weren’t able to say why the confrontation took place.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as an “older model pickup truck”.
