EDMONTON – The City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Fire Fighters Union have reached an agreement on a new contract.
The six-year deal, which covers from 2011 to the end of 2016, was ratified late Friday.

The new contract calls for the following wage increases:
- 2011 – increase of 3.6%
- 2012 – increase of 2% in Jan and 2% in July (4%)
- 2013 – increase of 3%
- 2014 – increase of 2%
- 2015 – increase of 2.25%
- 2016 – increase of 2.5%
“We’re pleased to reach an agreement with the Edmonton Fire Fighters Union,” says Pamela Kirkwood, the City of Edmonton’s Director of Labour Relations.
The Edmonton Fire Fighters Union represents over 1,000 members, including uniformed dispatchers, firefighters, inspectors, investigators, mechanics, and support personnel.
