An American caver who had become trapped more than 1,000 meters underground in southern Turkey after falling ill was rescued early on Tuesday, after an international rescue operation that lasted over a week. “The only feeling that I think I have is this curve of ‘will I live?’” Dickey recounted upon reaching the surface. “My consciousness started to get harder to hold on to and I reached a point where I said, ‘I’m not going to live.’”
