Thousands of bee hives destroyed across Chile by extreme weather, putting industry at risk

From a severe drought to wildfires that destroyed hundreds of homes and killed dozens in January, to the torrential floods last week that have forced evacuations across the country, Chile has been reeling from extreme weather in 2023. Impacted simultaneously by all the conditions is the nation’s beekeeping industry.
