Alberta wildfires: Province to end state of emergency at midnight

June 3, 2023
Officials gave an update on the Alberta wildfires on Saturday and said that the provincial state of emergency will expire at 11:59 p.m. "Right now, we do not anticipate a need for another provincial state of emergency, but the government will consider it if in the future," Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Services Mike Ellis said. "If the situation does require it to be, we will take swift action and use all the tools in the toolbox that are available to ensure the safety of all Albertans."
