Yusef Salaam, one of five Black men whose conviction in the death of a jogger in New York City’s Central Park was overturned in 2002, spoke Friday at the funeral for Jordan Neely, calling his death a “lynching.” He said Neely’s death was being “lauded” by the same people who “couldn’t comprehend that five kids of colour walking through Central Park could have been innocent of a crime.”
