Nova Scotia announces changes to ER care, including assigning nurse practitioners in emergency departments

Nova Scotia Health Minister Michelle Thompson announced a slew of changes for emergency departments across the province, following the deaths of two women after they faced hours-long waits in ERs. Among the changes include assigning nurse practitioners and physician assistants in ERs, and teams led by doctors focused on getting patients out of ambulances and into ERs faster.
