Veterans affairs minister says RCMP contacted after 4 cases of employee discussing medical assistance in dying with vets

Veterans Affairs Minister Lawrence MacAulay said on Thursday that the RCMP had been contacted after two additional cases had been reported of a Veterans Affairs employee speaking with vets about medical assistance in dying. He said it brought the number of cases to four and all involved a single employee, whose actions MacAulay called "simply disgusting." He added an apology to veterans saying that any discussion of such a process to veterans seeking care was "totally unacceptable."
