“We have to protect the residents and the businesses” Peterborough Coun. Keith Riel says shortened overflow shelter hours may be reconsidered in May 2022

Following reported complaints about drug use and tent activity surrounding the Wolfe St. overflow shelter, Peterborough’s city staff are recommending reducing the shelter’s hours to 12 hours a day.

Peterborough’s Ashburnham ward councillor and Housing Committee co-chair Keith Riel says he’s opposed to the idea, but that it could be re-considered in warmer months following other solution attempts.
