San Jose rail yard shooting: California governor says there’s a ‘numbness’ and ‘sameness’ to incident

California Gov. Gavin Newsom spoke Wednesday following a mass shooting at a light rail yard run by the Valley Transit Authority where eight people died. He said that there was a “numbness” to the incident because there was a “sameness,” citing pass shooting incidents not only in California but across the U.S. He questioned when “are we going to put down our arms literally and figuratively.” He also praised the actions of law enforcement and emergency responders for their response.
