Conservative MP ‘breaks’ Hong Kong’s new national security law

Samuel Chu of the Hong Kong Democracy Council outlined the expansive powers of China’s new Hong Kong security law after Conservative MP John Williamson read out a sentence stating he believed “the PRC (People’s Republic of China) should embrace democracy,” telling Williamson “welcome to the club of international fugitives.” Chu added that by even having the Special Committee on Canada-China Relations, and discussing issues like possible sanctions, would under China’s new national security law subject Williamson to being placed under.
