Coronavirus: Pence remains mum on whether masks will be mandatory nationwide

When asked about whether there could be a federal decision to make masks and facial coverings mandatory in the U.S. as part of the COVID-19 response, Vice-President Mike Pence said on Tuesday that the administration supports the guidance given by each state’s authorities to local communities in regards to facial coverings. However, he said they are focused on assisting states that are seeing surges in new cases, and did not say if there’s consideration for a nationwide mask policy.
