Coronavirus outbreak: Cuomo blames White House for directive on releasing patients back into nursing homes
During a briefing on New York State’s coronavirus response on Saturday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo was asked about a state directive that released over 4,500 recovering coronavirus patients into New York’s vulnerable nursing homes in March. The governor said the state had approximately 68,000 infections at the time and the directive to release those patients was following the guidance put out by the Trump administration. “What New York did was follow what the Republican administration said to do,” Cuomo said.
