Coronavirus outbreak: Hajdu stands by statement likening questioning Chinese COVID-19 data to pushing “conspiracy theories”

Health Minister Patty Hajdu on Thursday refused to walk back the statement she made last month that questioning the data being reported by China to the World Health Organization on COVID-19 was pushing “conspiracy theories.” Asked by Conservative MP Robert Kitchen whether she felt China had been open and transparent with the case and death toll numbers from COVID-19, Hajdu also said Thursday that a post-pandemic review was needed for all countries, but suggested it can be difficult to get accurate numbers in the middle of an outbreak.
