Coronavirus outbreak: Toronto is likely to see a second wave of COVID-19

Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto’s medical officer of health, said on Tuesday that the city is likely to experience a second COVID-19 wave because it has “yet to reach a high level of immunity in the community.” She added that the spread of COVID-19 will continue until a herd immunity is reached when many people are infected and have recovered, and have developed an immunity that lasts, or until a vaccine is developed.
