Coronavirus outbreak: Sweden calls Trump’s criticism ‘factually wrong’
U.S. President Donald Trump accused Sweden of relying on ”herd immunity,’’ which means isolating vulnerable groups but allowing large numbers of the population to become ill to develop immunity. The Swedish Foreign Minister said Trump’s comments were “factually wrong” and that the country had adopted a number of tougher measures, including closing homes for the elderly to visitors and holding higher education classes online, but is also relying more on personal responsibility. As of Wednesday, Sweden has had about 600 deaths from the disease. The U.S. has reported almost 13,000.
