Coronavirus outbreak: Take a Vespa ride around an empty Rome in week four of lockdown

A Vespa ride around Rome would usually involve cleverly whizzing through queues of car traffic surrounded by other motorbikes revving their engines and crowds of tourists trying to take their lives in their hands and cross busy roads. But as Italy enters its fourth week of a nationwide anti-coronavirus lockdown, on Tuesday there was a now-familiar sight of empty streets, no traffic, and barely any people except police cars and officers checking on anyone who isn’t at home. Italians are only allowed out of their homes for essential reasons.
